Came here for a coffee and ended up getting food as well and doing a spontaneous review because it seemed so spectacular!
ATMOSPHERE: The cafe has lofted seating and some seating as you walk in as well as additional seating in another side room. They played soft jazz music while I was there. Very quiet, soft conversations. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they have WiFi.
FOOD: I ordered the Smashed Egg on Sesame Loaf and a Cortado for dine in. It was amazing! My cortado was good, although the slight smooth cocoa flavor it usually provides wasn't as intense as some other places. My food came with labne, muhammra, aleppo, micro greens, smashed 7-minute boiled eggs, and black sesame. The labne was nice, creamy and sour tart while the muhammra offered a nice smoky, sweet to pair well with the tang and the eggs helped mellow things out, while hints of dill lingered on your tongue that was mixed in the crunch of the micro greens. A wonderful dish if you just need something somewhat small to eat! I will definitely be coming here again to try something different!

The experience I had in this cafe was fabulous. I ordered eggs on bread and yogurt bowl, they stand out from those in other cafes. The bread was soft and with perfectly balanced moisture. You can have your eggs poached if you like and they were amazing. Coffee was of high quality with amazing flavour. The staff was welcoming and dining in was the most divine and cozy thing in the morning. A wise choice if you are visiting Santa Monica as a tourist!

Monica Café is honestly one of my favorite spots in town. Everything they serve is top-notch—the lattes are smooth and delicious, the muffins are always fresh (those raised muffins are amazing!), and the smashed eggs on the sesame loaf is such a perfect, feel-good dish.
But what really makes this place special are the owners. They’re incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. The service is warm, quick, and full of good vibes. Love the decor and the sitting.
It’s the kind of café that just makes your day better. Highly recommend stopping by!

We're pretty spoilt with cafe culture back in Australia, so finding a spot in the US that genuinely delivers is rare. Monica absolutely nails it — hands down the best cafe we came across on our trip.
The food was beautiful, the decor has so much character, and the music selection deserves its own mention. Every track just fit the room perfectly.
Highly recommend. Well done to the owner and team, best cafe we’ve visited in the US.

Stopped by for breakfast and lunch. Menemen was fresh and perfectly balanced, and the latte was smooth with great flavor and not bitter at all. You can tell they care about quality. The space feels clean and cozy, and the staff was super welcoming. Definitely adding this to my regular morning spots

I had a wonderful experience at Monica Cafe when my friends and I dropped by for breakfast. The breakfast items were not only super delicious but also incredibly fresh. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff treated us with such kindness that we felt right at home. I’m definitely saving this spot for future visits and will happily bring any out-of-town guests here. Highly recommend!

After a jetlagged Flat White yesterday, I had to head back for more coffee & brunch. The base of the smashed eggs is amazing, light, creamy, a perfect balance for the zest that compliments it. The sesame toast is light, but with enough structure to allow you to completely clean your plate. The coffee has strength, but is perfectly soft in a flat white and punchy in a cortado. The place has a really nice, chilled vibe, the staff are excellent, efficient, but friendly.

Monica’s Cafe in Santa Monica honestly blew me away.
The food was absolutely incredible, with such unique flavor combinations that felt both elevated and comforting at the same time. Every bite of their Turkish Mediterranean dishes took me straight back to my memories of Turkey — it was that authentic and nostalgic.
The atmosphere is beautiful and so thoughtfully designed, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. And the staff? Super warm, professional, and genuinely kind.
A special shoutout to the chef — you can truly feel the passion and precision in every dish.
I already know that every time I’m in Santa Monica, I’ll be coming back just to relive that nostalgic taste and the amazing vibe.
And wow… their Turkish coffee is a must. Absolutely unforgettable. ☕️✨

I absolutely love this café. We tried the egg and cheese croissant sandwich and the Mediterranean wrap, and both were incredible. Everything tasted so fresh, and you can really tell the ingredients are high quality. The customer service was just as impressive.. warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. All the great reviews are absolutely deserved. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu

One of the main highlights of this place—and the main reason we went—was the Çılbır, and it absolutely delivered. Rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced, it truly stood out. If you’re coming here for one dish, this is the one.
We ordered several other items from the menu as well, and everything was top-notch. The menu has a really nice mix of Turkish and Middle Eastern flavors, presented in a modern, thoughtful way. Every dish felt fresh, well-executed, and made with high-quality ingredients.
It’s a great spot for breakfast or lunch, and I also loved the presentation—the way everything was designed and laid out on the table added to the experience and showed great attention to detail.
Definitely looking forward to going back.
